1.  I'm Professor Alan Francis Harrison. "Soft science" is any of the specialized fields or disciplines, as psychology, sociology, anthropology, or political science, that interpret human behavior, institutions, society, etc., on the basis of scientific investigation for which it may be difficult to establish strictly measurable criteria.

3. I chose social psychology and worked in the tourism industry. My first (Honours) degree is in social psychology - Open University. My first university lectureship was at Surrey University in 1974.

5. "Hard science" is about establishing strictly measurable criteria. I retired in 2000 and took up hard science in a big way. Recently, I started looking at artificial intelligence in the context of spacetime application. All my life I have been interested in the stars and why they exist. Through my blogs I share my passion for the subject.

7. I have a blog system which is intended to give you support when helping your children learn about science. Fascinated at school by a compass point being turned by a nearby low voltage electric wire, I went on to a more than a passing interest in science and astrophysics.

9. I have been a Primary School Governor during and before which time I taught science topics within the present children's website on an informal basis over a period of three years.

11. Primarily, I am an educationalist: i.e. a person who has a special knowledge of the principles and methods of teaching.

13. That also requires being an educationist who is a specialist in the theory of education. I have a Master's degree in Education - Edinburgh.

15. I live 15 miles west of Oxford (Charlbury) and offer help to primary school parents.  I can operate on a one-off basis visiting within a specific requested theme within primary schools.

17. Otherwise, parents can request specific themes via their school over a stated period of weekly visits.
